Unit Overview

Welcome! This webpage is meant to accompany the lessons you will complete in class. These lessons prompt you to explore the process of mitosis through looking at images of human induced pluripotent stem cells in different stages of the cell cycle and cell division.

This webpage is where you can find resources for each lesson, as well as information about your homework assignments.

This curriculum unit was supported by the National Science Foundation under Award Number 2236366. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Science Foundation.

Lesson 1: Introduction to Mitosis
Explore the process of mitosis in the context of the greater cell cycle.
Lesson 2: Studying Mitosis with Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells
Explore mitosis through browsing the Deep Cell Zoom gallery with over 200,000 cell images.
Lesson 3: Investigate a 3D Model of a Human Cell
Explore an interactive 3D model of a human cell undergoing cell division.
Lesson 4: Explore the Integrated Mitotic Stem Cell
Explore organelle localization throughout cell division using an interactive web-based tool.
